The second leg of the Old Salem tournament in New York finishes up this weekend. Carmen started the week off strong with a 4th place finish in the 1.30m Open Jumper, and Plume de la Roque a 6th placing in the 1.40m Open Jumper speed class on Thursday. Fayvor, my seven year old mount, jumped the 7 year old Final with a very unlucky rail at the last jump today ending up with a 9th place overall. I jumped both Carmen and my eight year old mare Anaconda in the modified Grand Prix on Friday. Both jumped a stellar first round clear and were very fast in the jump off. Unfortunately both had but 4 faults, ending up 8th and 9th place. Plume de la Roque jumped a great round in the Welcome on Friday with two light rubs in the first round. This mare feels like the real deal; I am so excited to have her at Spruce Meadows this summer. I have decided that we would like to save Plume de la Roque and rest her until the ‘National’ Tournament at Spruce Meadows.  Doremi jumped fantastic in the welcome Grand Prix with only 9 clear of 65. It was a very very fast jump off. We had two very light rubs at the last two jumps in the jump off ending up 8th place. The tour came to an end rather quickly. All my horses are done competing with the exception of Doremi who I decided to take in the $100,000 Empire State Grand Prix on Sunday. I am so happy I decided to jump these 5 horses here at Old Salem on the beautiful grass field. All my horses had some great placings and got some great experiences here. I feel ready as ever to be contenders at Spruce Meadows in June.
