Well it was a great week at the North American. Even though I didn’t compete in the Grand Prix, the week posed to be a successful tournament none the less. All of the horses of Attaché Stables jumped very well and each of them had a highlight during the week. Anaconda D, my 8 year old mare, is really starting to prove to everyone that she’s a future star. She jumped with just 4 faults in a very tough 1.45m held on the Meadows on the Green Ring, then really stepped up her game and jumped a clear round with one time fault in the international ring. Those are very big jumps and very technical tracks especially for an 8 year old and she was fantastic.

Plume de la Roque was fantastic on Friday night in the 1.50m. She was one of only 7 clears in the Lafarge cup, and ended up 5th in a blistering fast jump off with Kent Farrington taking the win.

The week ended with a fantastic 4th place finish in the Cenovus Energy Classic Derby with Doremi competing over the grueling course, incurring just 4 faults at the wall. I think I may have a real contender for the Derbies with Doremi.

It’s unbelievable how fast this tournament has passed us by. Only one week left, the ‘Pan American’ Tournament and then begins the anticipation for September – to walk back into the International Ring again!

I’ve learned so much about my new horses these past five weeks and I’ve gained so much knowledge from watching international Show Jumping legends do their thing in the ring. It’s a long ladder to the top but we are definitely moving forward and upwards.

This week for the ‘Pan American’ Tournament, Fay will be out getting more experience and miles in the 1.30m division, Carmen and Anna will be ones to look out for in the 1.45m and Plume will finish up with the 1.50m on Thursday and Saturday. Keep a look out for Remi, entered in Friday’s 1.55m competition, followed by the $400,000 Grand Prix on Sunday.

Last week of Spruce – we are coming in hot!
